charmaine & gabriel eshoot
Here’s a little something to start the weekend off with. Our Charmaine and Gabriel – marrying next month and certainly starting to feel all of the anxiety that comes along with crunch time. We had met them over a year and a half ago, and judging by their demeanour toward each other, one would think that they had only started dating and well within the puppy love phase. As it turns out they have been together for years now (and were even best friends prior to this) so it was almost to our astonishment and admiration that when we next caught up with them some months later, they were STILL so naturally luvey-d with each other. Adorable...

Back to Base Camp
After four weeks of happy holidaying, five pieces of carefully decorated luggage that never went astray, turning three shades darker, pounds of Hershey bars, an undisclosed number of kilos around the belly, depraved cravings for In’N’Out burger, commercial quantities of Bath & Body works, and ten new magnets for the fridge’o’travel, we’re back! And ready to rumble!
Wedding season is such a buzz. Late nights of planning and plotting, probing and scoping until you get that magic light bulb moment that completely defines the creative approach you’ll take for a bride and her groom. There’s something truly special about recalling a bride’s vision from first conversations, and then seeing it all come to life when the day finally arrives. Sometimes her own visions amaze even herself...
See below for winter weddings we had the privilege to shoot over the last month. Medals to Gus, Felix, Nicole and Elise who held the fort while we were away, and whose constant reassurances that ‘all will be great’ made us feel very comforted, albeit, awkwardly a little displaced.
kate & remy
New Yorkers Kate and Remy had a wedding day worth any bride’s envy. We are fervent believers that big weddings should still have little trims, and Kate did just that as she confesses that the angst associated with ‘overseas wedding’ planning compelled her to take her ‘bride side’ by the reigns, and funnel her displaced energy into hand making all of their little treats. Stress well spent.

Joann & Bart
Joann & Bart are the loveliest couple. She’s demure, charming, and thoughtful, while he’s... well much the same really. We get the distinct impression that he’s just a male version of her. A match!
They had only the one wish for their wedding – to have a day others would remember as a fun and spirited time spent with the best of their friends. Although Bart may not have counted on some fun at his expense, when he was unjustly rated for his first kiss in front of their entire congregation. A lively time had by all... Red Bull aside.

juliana & damian
Can’t help but hear “Stay With You” by John Legend every time we think of Juliana and Damian. Through the ups and the downs... when no one else is around.. when the dark clouds arrive... I will stay by your side. It is ‘their song’ and so warmly fits the collection of images from their wedding day... contemplative... introspective... and wistful. Peacefully absorbed within one another. The bride and groom exactly.
